Cleaning your tennis court surface.

Cleaning your tennis court surface, House Wash PA maintains the integrity of the surface, makes courts more playable and safer, and brings them to life.

Just as mold and algae attack the paint on your patio or home, they can take hold of your tennis court’s acrylic coating and significantly shorten the life of the court.

Cleaning (pressure washing) is only a fraction of the cost of resurfacing, so proper annual cleaning and routine maintenance will help extend the life of the court and ultimately save the club money. Playing courts should be professionally cleaned once a year.

No one has counted all the tennis courts in the world. I won’t venture an estimate on the number of courts worldwide, but I would venture to say that there are more hard-court tennis courts than clay courts.

At the professional level, more tournaments are played on hard courts than clay courts (see ATP tournament calendar). A common misconception is that hard courts require no maintenance, which is absolutely false. Of course, they don’t require as much maintenance and care as clay (or grass) courts, but they still need to be maintained. Cleaning and maintaining hard courts do not take as much time and can extend the life of the court.

Special surfaces, such as outdoor sports courts, must be properly assessed before cleaning to avoid surface damage and achieve optimal results. House Wash PA first determines the type of material your surface is coated with and the age of the coating.

Once we determine the variables required, we optimize the cleaning solution mix based on the various contaminants that need to be removed. We also adjust our surface cleaners to operate at the proper pressure to avoid damaging your surface.

Before we begin, we perform a test on a small area of the surface to ensure that the cleaning solution will work and that the psi selected will not cause damage to your surface.

Most tennis courts will not be damaged by fungus.

Most acrylic tennis and multisport hard courts are very durable and require little maintenance. Some basic cleaning principles will help you extend the life of your court and enjoy it for many years to come. Here are some tips for maintaining surfaces between renewal cycles.

Courts should be swept weekly with a soft broom, air blower, or water broom. Thoroughly clean the track once a year with a pressure washer, as pressure washers with a hose and nozzle can apply too much pressure and damage the track surface. Use a mild, residue-free cleaner for deep cleaning.

Clean your tennis court thoroughly with House Wash PA, West Chester, Pennsylvania once a year.

Untreated tennis courts encourage the formation of algae and moss. These, in turn, damage the court’s drainage, making it slippery and leading to surface deterioration over time. House Wash PA, West Chester, Pennsylvania will revamp your court with a deep cleaning, restoring the look and feel of the court surface.

Please note, however, that you can’t just use a simple pressure washer like you would for a patio or car. Industrial cleaners are required, and you should only have your tennis court cleaned by professionals or you could do more harm than good. Following the cleaning, we can also perform a moss treatment to keep your court looking great for longer.
